A magnesium fire rod is a tool used to start a fire, typically for camping, hiking, or emergency situations. The usage method of magnesium fire rod is as follows:
1. Prepare
Choose a suitable location: Ensure that you are in a safe and suitable place to start a fire. Remove flammable materials and weeds around to ensure that the fire source does not cause accidental fires.
Prepare the igniter: The magnesium rod needs to be used in conjunction with some flammable materials, usually hay, bark, paper, or small pieces of wood.
2. Scrape off magnesium shavings
Take out the magnesium rod: The magnesium rod is usually a rectangular or cylindrical magnesium alloy rod, and the other end may have an attached steel scraper.
Scrape off magnesium shavings with a scraper: Use a steel scraper to quickly scrape the surface of the magnesium rod until enough magnesium shavings are produced. Magnesium shavings are highly flammable and should be stacked on prepared igniters.
